Vishal

Raichandani

My name is Vishal and I live my life for 3 C's: Coffee, Creativity, and Bollywood (It's technically Cinema)

When life gives you a knack for bad poetry, even worse jokes and absolutely no math skills, you become a copywriter. That's exactly how I started out my career in advertising and my relationship with imposter syndrome.

Somehow, I've managed to become a Creative Head and Strategist in advertising with over seven years of industry experience and a tad bit of experience on the brand side (more on that later). This website is a collection of my journey through the years, of course a concise version of it with only the highlights.

Brands Worked On

Over the last few years, these are the brands that I've had the opportunity to collaborate with:

And more...

01

Copywriting

The madness that started it all, that took me away from a job in journalism and brought me into advertising.

A mix of quirky and funny, with the right amount of wit is how I would describe my writing style. Those I work with would say otherwise.

That's because good copy, to me, comes after a lot of bad jokes and puns. You could say my presence is the final pun-ishment of working with me

Campaigns

As the journey of a copywriter goes, I didn't realize that the late-night fun was just a facade to keep me in the office to keep the work going.

I was naive, but I stayed for the fun anyway.

Now I'm not sure how this happened, but I started correlating fun and work soon, leading my mentors and seniors to trust me with their ideas to expand upon campaigns.

This was also the stage in my career where I started talking to and developing a professional relationship with clients directly.

Campaigns

With great responsibility, comes imposter syndrome.

This is what started it all, my journey to become more than just a copywriter. Trusted with the responsibility to take the lead with the client and ideate my own campaigns, I finally got a chance to let it all out.

From being a part of a team to leading it, and being the sole POC to the client, I took on the role of an Account Manager, Creative Strategist, and Copy Head at this stage.

On The Brand Side

After over 2 years of working with ITC Foods, the client decided to take me on as a contingent employee in their team to help them with their internal marketing team.

Since I was a part of the event management team for their internal awards EMAs, I was familiar with most of the brand managers so this transition wasn't too drastic for me.

Currently, I act as the client to my own agency and a couple of other agencies while being responsible for all things digital, sometimes events and offline activities as well.

It's still a little unbelievable, but hey, here I am.

Where will I go next?

PitchEs

Now that I had some experience with making my own campaigns, I was given the oppurtunity to work on pitches for new brands or brands that were looking for an agency. This gave me a chance to learn about the market more and also push myself more than I ever had.

Behind The Camera

If you are someone who has seen how an advertising agency functions, you know that no one sticks to their role, and everyone has to don multiple hats. The scripts that I had written now required me to be on the sets to make sure the execution was done the right way.

A new experience for me, but definitely a fun one. Click the button below the picture to watch me behind the scenes.

06

By far the most anxiety-inducing part of my advertising career, but also where I got the most attention. Due to various reasons, I got a chance to face the camera and be a part of a few videos either written by me or by my colleagues.
